We just finished the book A Very Important Day by Maggie Rugg Herold. In this book, many families are excited about the day they became United States citizens. Can you think of a day when you or your family had an important day? Was there a wedding? Was someone born? Did someone come back from being in the military? Review of Akiak
By Sylvia in Mr. Deaver's Class
Hey fourth graders! I'm doing a review about a story called Akiak. Akiak is a beautiful story about a dog that won't give up. Akiak is a 10 year old dog. She is an Alaskan Husky and is dark black with white spots. I really love this story because it taught me when the going gets tough, the tough get going. That is what this book is all about. Akiak's owner, Mick, had to drop off Akiak because her paw filled up with snow and her paw got sore. The reason I'm writing the review is because my class and I, from room 19, wanted to show how this story can teach us loyalty. Akiak is a beautiful dog. She is Mick's lead dog and she is old and she knows the tracks. Mick and Akiak both wanted to win. They were a little bit nervous but they were strong. That's the end of the review.
